OPENING DAY 2014

Ladies another Opening Day! What a start to the season. Despite the forecast and the heavy rain Thursday and Friday, the course was in great condition with no sign of water until the 9th where the new drains are under construction. We even got a bit of run on the fairways!!

16 ladies joined in on Saturday. Lady Captain, Moira Lumby teed off partnered by Iris Robertson. Dorothy Whytock led the opposition with partner Liz Angus. The Lady Captain had a resounding victory winning 3 games to 1.  Congratulations Moira. Dot, there is always next year and in any case it is very bad form to beat the Captain on Opening Day!!

We all enjoyed our meal after the game and look forward to many more with our new steward Paul in charge of the kitchen.  Thanks Paul.

Road to the Isle!

WINTER WALK 2014

It was time for the Ladies Winter Walk on Sunday. Eleven of us were brave enough to risk the weather and although our numbers have dwindled we still had a very enjoyable walk - we even managed to stay dry!!

We started off from the main Car Park in Dunkeld and walked through the town to the recently planted orchard and from there to the river bank. Its roughly three miles from there, passing Neil Gow's tree, to the A9 bridge  where we cut underneath and crossed to the other side of the Tay where we had a welcome chocolate break before the return trip.

We passed Hilton House and the Cathedral and it was time to get back in the car for a stop at Bankfoot Visitors' Centre and a well earned lunch.
